IF TUNNELING IS AN ART, OUR MACHINES ARE STATE-OF-THE-ART

At Putzmeister, we like to think that concreting is more of an art than a technique. Our full concreting range makes use of the most advanced technique in the concreting industry to ensure that your needs are met satisfactorily, efficiently and in record time. Our mortar machines are designed for micropile injection to increase terrain stability with the help of our state-of-the-art pumps. For primary and secondary lining, we have a range of shotcrete solutions. You can choose between mechanized or manual shotcreting or tunnel formworks in collaboration with our strategic partner Kern Tunneltechnik. For the final tunnel concreting, we bring into the game the unrivaled Putzmeister boom or stationary pumps which put the perfect finishing touches on your project.
INJECTING MORTAR AND SAFETY AT EVERY STAGE OF EXCAVATION
At Putzmeister, safety and quality play a crucial role in whatever we do. This is why our high performance mortar machines are the best choice in the pre and post-excavation stage of tunneling
In the pre-excavation stage, a thorough ground treatment gives the team a good idea of the land we are dealing with and what safety precautions to implement.
Our experts on the job ensure that depending on the rock, construction method and time plan, suitable machines are set aside to be used for the injection of mortar in the tunnel construction.
In the post-excavation stage, we use cement bolts to stabilize tricky terrains. These measures ensure that ultimately both us and the client reach our goal - to complete the project safely and efficiently in a timely manner.
INJECTING MORTAR AND SAFETY AT EVERY STAGE OF EXCAVATION
Reliable and wear resistant modular systems equipped to handle demanding applications.
WELL THOUGHT OUT SOLUTIONS FOR TRANSPORT AND PLACING
Efficient logistics play a huge role in ensuring that concreting is carried out efficiently.
Transporting concrete can be done in two ways - long distance pumping or using truck mixers.
At Putzmeister, we realize that there is no set answer for everyone. We give our customers the right product to use only after carefully considering the work at hand. Our team of highly qualified engineers is equipped with the knowledge to correctly diagnose the situation and take the project forward in the most efficient way possible.
Alternative methods of concrete placing include using track vehicles, pneumatic conveying, step-by-step pumping over short distances, and/or combined means of transport.
Putzmeister has the tools to offer each of these services, but we only deploy the best one after extensive research and groundwork.
WELL THOUGHT OUT SOLUTIONS FOR TRANSPORT AND PLACING
Reliable and durable pumps for smooth operations and effective results.
THE SILVER LINING IN TUNNELING
Putzmeister has successfully succeeded in connecting cities across the world, with expertly constructed tunnels built using the best tools that modern technology has to offer. As a result, we have gained a reputation for excellence in the field of tunnel construction.
The use of shotcrete provides the tunneling with a form of resistance and stability. Putzmeister makes use of mechanized shotcreting equipment which is economical and reliable and pertains to high volume projects.
Putzmeister´s WETKRET line of mechanized spraying equipment with various boom lengths and output volumes gives you versatility on underground job sites. The Putzmeister method also makes use of trailer pumps and mortar machines that provide you with end to end solutions that make the tunneling process a seamless one that fits your budget.
THE SILVER LINING IN TUNNELING
Versatile and flexible solutions with high accuracy for better output.
WHEN YOU SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
Slab lining is the final stage of the tunnel construction process, where the tunnel floor is secured.
Putzmeister makes use of two methods to do this, depending on the requirements of the job site. We either use stationary concrete pumps for smaller sites or truck mounted pumps, often used for larger tunnels.
We make use of a mechanical distributor in various sizes, to place the concrete, which makes the process easier and faster.
WHEN YOU SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
Compact, user-friendly and cost effective systems to tackle varied job sites.
ALMOST AS IMPORTANT TO THE TUNNEL AS THE DESIGN IS
Some tunnels require highly specific finishes, as in the case of aerodynamic high speed train networks and motorway tunnels. To cater to these needs, the tunnel construction process utilizes formwork molds which allow cast-in place concrete to pour on site.
Our alliance with Strategic Partner, Kern Tunneltechnik has made it possible for us to integrate secondary lining solutions. This is labor intensive and highly advanced and proficient and is perfectly complimented by our stationary pumps and innovative formwork filling system.
ALMOST AS IMPORTANT TO THE TUNNEL AS THE DESIGN IS
Efficient and easily adaptable systems for increased productivity.
DIGGING UP THE DIRT – AND THEN DEALING WITH IT
At the end of the day, tunneling involves a lot of digging through the dirt! In the process, it produces large amounts of excavated muck which needs to be transported through the tunneling machine's discharge system.
The selected form of discharge is chosen according to the type of material being cut into. For example, extremely hard substances like granite cannot be pumped through ordinary systems.
Soft substances like chalk and limestone are relatively soft and can be crushed quite easily in such a way that the addition of water to the grading curve of the material makes transport by pump possible.
Using muck pumping ensures that the newly formed tunnel bore remains clean and is available for other work, as the pipework can be attached to the tunnel wall easily. The process makes doing the dirty work much simpler, easier and safer to handle.
DIGGING UP THE DIRT – AND THEN DEALING WITH IT
Highly resistant and service friendly systems for efficient results.
THERE’S NO TUNNEL VISION: WE AIM TO BE THE PROVIDER OF THE BEST TUNNELING TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS
In this constantly evolving modern world, it is important to accept only the best of what technology has to offer. That is why we use high performance tunneling operations that maximize efficiency and minimize damage.
We use different machinery for the injection of mortar, depending on the kind of rock, construction method and time plan. Putzmeister offers services and machinery that includes everything from the smallest single machine to fill anchor holes, to piston pumps for high pumping pressure.
Our TRIA injection systems are generally used in high-performance tunneling operations in which closed tunneling machines line the tunnel with concrete or steel segments. The ring space between the tunnel wall and the tunneling machine must therefore be filled continuously at the same rate as the tunnel is cut.
The filling material is made up of two components: one is a high grade retarding cement grout, and the other an inert mortar of sand, fly ash and water. Both components are mixed separately and fed in a 1:19 ratio to a mixer through KOV or HSP high density solids pumps that allow both quantity and pressure to be adjusted individually.
THERE’S NO TUNNEL VISION: WE AIM TO BE THE PROVIDER OF THE BEST TUNNELING TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS
Highly resistant and low maintenance systems equipped with hydraulic units for maximum performance.
